EMPOWERING YOUTH AND ADULTS
TO LIVE DRUG-FREE
PROVIDING EFFECTIVE, FREE DRUG EDUCATION TO SOCAL
Who Are We?
The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is a nonprofit public benefit organization that empowers youth and adults with factual information about drugs so they can make informed decisions and live drug-free.
No one, especially a young person, likes to be lectured about what he or she can or cannot do. Thus, we provide the facts that empower youth to choose not to take drugs in the first place.
We are part of the worldwide network of Drug Free World volunteers, who have distributed more than 50 million of drug prevention booklets and held tens of thousands of drug awareness events. We cover all of LA County and the surrounding area, representing Southern California in alliance with another 180 countries. The Truth About Drugs public service announcements have been aired on over 500 television stations. The materials and activities offered by Drug Free World internationally, have helped people around the world learn about the destructive side effects of drugs and thereby make the decision for themselves to not use them.
In Southern California we have a network of volunteers and partnerships who are working together to raise awareness on the truth about drugs, the insidiousness of current “legal” sales and overcoming the false idea that marijuana and alcohol have little or no effect on teens and young adults.
How does one reach youth with a message about drugs more persuasive than peer pressure and drug dealers? That’s where we can help. Once informed, they can make the decision of a lifetime – to live drug-free.
We provide effective drug education resources – videos, booklets and other teaching aids, as well as offering seminars in schools, churches and other settings – that grab the attention of young people and their parents, keep them involved and leave them informed.
We network with schools, churches, police, government as well as community leaders and alliances, offering assistance in our collective mission and providing educational booklets, offering drug awareness events and sharing our public service announcements.
